For my FMP I am exploring Complulsion and the idea of compulsive drawing, being unable to stop drawing, creating. I am looking at the positive and negative aspects of this condition by examining my own ways of working as an illustrator and by looking at artists such as Richard Dadd and Arthur Rackham. I would like to create a series of illustrations, possibly a story book that is both beautiful to look at and slightly disturbing. I am inspired by Hans Christian Andersons fairytale The Red Shoes ( the book, film and ballet ) and as I am facinated by the ballet and ballerinas would love to create designs for costumes and even set designs.
